The Credit Manager for New England Building Supply will be responsible for Credit & AR functions as well as collection management for approximately $100M in annual receivables. This person will drive the effective administration of the company’s internal credit controls and collection policies while analyzing different types of financial information to reach sound credit decisions.  The Credit Manager will partner with sales, administrative, and operational teams to promote sales while meeting cash flow goals and mitigating delinquent receivables and potential bad debt loss.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze credit risk of new applicants by performing thorough review and assessment
  • Utilize credit reporting bureaus, trade references, and other applicable sources of information to extend credit to customers in accordance with company policies
  • Monitor and review credit information, including credit limits, of existing customers annually
  • Manage AR portfolio through direct involvement with customers, sales, and internal resources
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments and attend regular sales meetings
  • Make collection efforts thru phone calls, emails, and regular in-person customer visits
  • Negotiate and secure arrangements for payment with delinquent accounts
  • Monitor and maintain Lien/Bond rights according to company policy
  • Minimize bad debt exposure while helping the company maximize profitable sales
  • Meet monthly collection, DSO and delinquent AR goals
  • Understand cashflow reporting and collaborate with Kodiak team on forecasting targets
  • Conduct yearly performance review activities for direct reports
  • Participate in local industry credit groups as a representative for New England Building Supply
  • Develop, drive, and improve internal policies & procedures to ensure compliance and the highest integrity of the company’s results
  • Maintain daily tasks such as check deposits, bank reconciliation, and applying payments to Bistrack
  • Ad hoc projects as required

Reports To:

This position will report to the President at New England Building Supply and will work closely with the Credit & AR Team at Kodiak Building Partners, the parent company to New England Building Supply.

Minimum Qualifications of Candidate:

Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in credit and collections preferred
  • Relevant industry experience, building materials distribution or construction preferred
  • Lien and Bond experience preferred
  • Familiarity with navigating and analyzing business and consumer credit reports preferred
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel required
  • Basic accounting and finance knowledge is required

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred

Salary Range:

$80,000-$90,000 DOE plus Incentive Bonus
