Position Summary:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the purchasing, management, and inventory of all commodity building materials purchased by New England Building Supply (including, but not limited to: lumber, EWP, I-joist, roofing, metal products, siding, drywall and insulation)
Responsibilities:
The following is a list of the major responsibilities of the Purchaser:
- Build codes for new products being entered into our system
- Receive incoming material into our system
- Review vendor confirmation to assure accuracy of the orders
- Communicate with dispatch and sales regarding time sensitive orders
- Communicate with Management and Sales regarding obsolete inventory
- Track returned material to determine if credit should be issued
- Continuously seeks new opportunities to reduce cost of material
- Measures and tracks vendor performance such as quality and on-time delivery, etc
Qualifications
To be considered for this position you will need to possess the following skills, experience and abilities:
- Position requires a self-starter, goal oriented person who is able to initiate and implement accurate pricing for purchases
- Knowledge must include experience in purchasing/buying , inventory, warehousing, and receiving
- Mathematical and Reasoning abilities
- Detail oriented
