POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inside Sales Support Specialist will provide support to the Outside Sales Team and act as a liaison with the various internal departments and personnel as well as customers and vendors. The incumbent is an intricate member of the Sales Team and is instrumental to the continued success of the department and the Company.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day-to-day support to the Outside Sales Team
  • Process quotes, orders, purchase orders, etc., with a high level of accuracy
  • Field incoming calls from sales reps and customers
  • Act as primary liaison with Shipping/Receiving and various vendors
  • Demonstrate a systematic approach with functional responsibilities
  • Aggressively gain the product knowledge necessary to support the position
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new and existing products
  • Communicate effectively with all internal staff and external contacts
  • Ensure all department and Company policies and procedures are followed
  • Assist in collection of receivables, if necessary
  • Identify opportunities for improvement
  • Implement the necessary procedures to improve customer service, promote accuracy, minimize the potential for costly errors, increase sales and gross margin
  • Prioritize and manage time effectively to ensure expectations are met
  • Work independently on delivering results expected for the position
  • Provide reporting to Manager, as requested

QUALIFICATION GUIDE:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Previous related work experience preferre
  • Product knowledge of construction materials, terms and applications
  • Basic understanding of inventory
  • Basic understanding of blueprints
  • Customer focus and excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Spruce Point of Sale system knowledge a plus
